About Digital Marketing
Gain knowledge, transform your business
Our Digital Marketing Training Courses (3 Day Boot Camp, 8 Week Evening Diploma & 1Day Social Media Seminar) were created to meet the demand for digital marketing knowledge and skills across Australia. These are face-to-face training courses set in convenient city locations. “It’s all about ‘integration’ between internet marketing and ‘classical’ marketing”, says Mr Paul Dodson, General Manager, Digital Marketing Institute & DMI Consult Australia.
Mr Dodson was recently asked a direct (yet relevant) question from the Sunday Telegraph Journalist, Rosie Squires – “Do you think digital marketing is becoming a fashionable discipline?”. Paul’s response was, “It doesn’t matter whether it is fashionable. If you know nothing about Digital Marketing, you will find yourself quickly replaced”.
Paul attributes the success of the digital marketing training courses to the fact that its founders are NOT formally trained in information technology. As an honours degree graduate in marketing, he is regularly quoted as saying that, “the less you know about Information Technology the better you will be at digital marketing and (often) the better you will be at helping people understand it when conducting digital marketing training courses”.
Not one to mince words, Paul climbed the marketing ranks of the pharmaceutical industry where he had to translate complex biological data into 30 second sound bites for his sales force. A digital marketing training course is no different. “When I am interviewing a lecturer for our digital marketing courses in (say) Sydney, I don’t want to hear about HTML coding or meta tags, I want to hear about consumer access and retention.”
With strong heritage and a European digital training style, Mr Dodson opened the Australian DMI office in 2009. “Australia is an interesting market in that the corporate world is beginning to realise that digital marketing is critical to their success, yet businesses are not too sure how to approach the challenge”. In Europe the flood gates have opened. Internet Marketing & Social Media training courses are expanding into the UK, Spain, France and Germany. The Digital Marketing Institute (Australia) has plans to expand into China & Singapore in 2011.
Our digital marketing course is ideally suited for anyone thinking of selling or marketing their product online. It is an essential skill for existing corporate professionals. Many senior managers need to expand their knowledge base into the digital marketing sector and learn about internet trends and current practices.
Digital Marketing Training Courses (often referred to as internet marketing training) are all about following the customer through the right channels. In Australia, people are feeling more confident about the economy, but they also realise that there is a ‘Digital Marketing Express Train” about to leave the station and everyone wants to be on it.
The digital marketing training courses provide attendees with a comprehensive introduction to the concepts and application of digital marketing. We introduce a range of innovative approaches that have been developed in applying these ideas to internet marketing.
Real life case studies and a very practical approach provide a cornerstone to our courses, ensuring that students understand the theory and are in a position to apply the practice to their own work roles.
